Carl House Announces
An invitation for Good Will from owner, BB Webb For the ladies and men to share with their ladies!!

I want to both invite you to, and ask your favor in contributing your time and some dollars at a traditional 'high tea' I am giving in support of the Jeannette Rankin foundation.
The Jeannette Rankin Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization that raises money for college scholarships for mature women who experienced, for whatever reason, an interruption in their education at an earlier age. It is based in Athens, Georgia, and has been recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501[c]3 organization. Much of the money needed to fund the scholarships is raised by "Giving Circles". My friend, Lya Sorano, founder of Atlanta Women in Business has established giving circles among business women in Atlanta and Northeast Georgia. I felt especially drawn to helping her raise money for this cause. |

Supporters will be entertained at a very special Friday May 4 tea at 4pm (of course), hosted by me at Carl House, with Beth Hendrix, one of America's exclusive Certified Tea & Etiquette Consultants. (She's wonderful and our gardens will be in full bloom). Please join us for tea, scones and other sweets!! With my background in theatre, I fully encourage you to 'dress up' for this event in your best hat, heels and colorful spring frock if you choose. Let's celebrate our many gifts while giving to woman who might follow in our foot steps. We will have a short program at the tea which I know you will enjoy. To participate, please call my assistant Katie at Carl House at 770-586-0095 by Friday April 27th. Checks can be made out to 'The Jeannette Rankin Foundation' and mailed to Carl House at 1176 Atlanta Highway Auburn, GA 30011 preferably by April 27th so we might secure participation.
We all have been blessed with wonderful education and opportunities. It is my hope that you might join us and be willing to give $100, $200 or $300 toward this cause and to pass the word along to a friend! Our hope is to raise $5000 through individual sponsorships and your participation. Thank you gift baskets go to individuals giving at the $200 and $300 level.
Started in 1967 with seed money from the sale of a Georgia property owned by the estate of U.S. Congresswoman Jeannette Rankin, the foundation has to date awarded scholarships to more than 500 women across the United States; it will top the one million dollar mark in total scholarships this year. |
