An Hour of Darkess
|
Hi everyone,
It is with great sadness that I must advise everyone that Sharon Burrows passed away on December 30, 2001. She is survived by her four children, Matthew, Adam, Tristan and Kendra, her sister, Anne, and two brothers, John and Doug. Sharon was predeceased by her parents and by her sister, Joani.
We wish Sharon peace in her new life. A light has gone out in our world.
"Only when a man has become so unhappy, or has grasped the misery of this existence so profoundly that he can truly say, 'For me life is worthless,' only then can life have worth in the highest degree."
Soren Kierkegaard
We do have some happy news, both Mel McCallum and Jesse Gogan-Hall are expecting babies in April. Mel is having a boy, Zacharie, and Jesse is having a girl, Faith. Our best wishes and congratulations to Mel and Rocque (and Aunt Rachelle) and to Jesse and Roland.
The next meetings for Tarot Canada are March 13, April 10, May 8 and June 12 at Pagan Playground, Kanata, Ontario. Meetings begin at 7:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

Cat Folklore shared by Marta Martin
|
|
In Japan, there is a myth that cats turn into super spirits when they die.
According to the Buddhist religion, the body of the cat is the temporary resting place of the soul of very spiritual people.
Some people believe that cats engage in astral travel even in life. They also believe that if a cat adopts you, it will stay with you forever, even after death.
Traits usually associated with cats are curiosity, many lives, cleverness, unpredictability, healing and witchcraft since in ancient times it was believed that witches took the form of their cats at night.
It is thought that Pussy Willow buds are the souls of yet unborn kittens.
In Spring, the willow tree develops soft gray buds on its branches known as "Pussy Willow". The name is actually supposed to have its origins in a story about cats. According to legend, a number of kittens were thrown into a river to drown. The mother cat was naturally distraught and so
the willow trees along the river bank, held out their branches to the ittens and saved all of them. The idea is that the gray buds being soft and silky, represent kitten fur.
Cat Dream Interpretations:
To dream of a black cat is lucky.
To dream of a tortoiseshell cat means luck in love.
To dream of a ginger cat means luck in money and business.
To dream of a white cat means luck in creativity, spiritual matters, divination and spellcraft.
To dream of a black-and-white cat means luck with children; may also mean the birth of a child.
To dream of a tabby cat means luck for the home and all who live there.
To dream of a grey cat means to be guided by your dreams.
To dream of a calico or multi-coloured cat means luck with new friends and old ones.
A dream of two cats fighting means illness or a quarrel.

Anyway
|
|
People are often unreasonable,
illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind,
People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
you will win some false friends and
some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
(Mother Teresa hung a copy of this poem on a wall of the orphanage she
founded in Calcutta. Its source is unknown.)
