Drinking With the Zodiac
Author Unknown but Appreciated

Aries, the Daredevil Drunk: They’re actually less aggressive and sarcastic when they drink, though their impetuousness flies off the hook. They should stay away from games like “Truth or Dare.” Truth is no fun for them because they’re painfully honest all the time, but they love a good dare and will do the most ridiculous things with very little prompting.
Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
Body, Emotions, Mind - Part 2
(c) Susanna Van Zijl 2002-2011
"An average man's mind is filled with countless thoughts and, therefore, each individual one is extremely weak. When, instead of these many useless thoughts, there is only one, it is a power in itself and has a wide influence." (Sri Ramana Maharshi, as quoted in "Concentration" by Mouni Sadhu (Mandala Books, Unwin Paperbacks, London, 1959, re-issued 1986).
Remembering: Tears in My Heart
(c) Bonnie Moss, Golden Cup Cafe 2011
Shed no tears- for I am always with you
Oh heart, dear heart, smile
I stand beside you as you watch the sunrise, or the sunset
I hold you close when you are feeling sad
Watch the stars- I am among them twinkling at you
Feel the warmth of the sun, such is my love for you.... Anonymous
Dreams Can Convey Messages
(c) Bonnie Moss, Golden Cup Cafe, 2011
Dreaming is one of the fascinating mysteries of Life. Do we all wander off to dreamland in our sleep? The dreaming mind moves into a mysterious and intriguing realm where there is freedom of movement, from one scene to another with no apparent relevance and no inhibitions. Dreams may not make sense to the dreamer at the moment. It is a realm for great exploration of what lies beyond our conscious mind.
A Pocket Full of Moon Beams
(c) Patricia Darrow, Astrologer, 2011
Much has been written about the romance, the rhythms and the madness of the moon! We certainly know there are more hospital admissions and crime when the moon is full. The moon’s cycles do have a rhythm that seems to establish and govern the rhythms of all life cycles such as the tides, the rain, fertility, woman’s menstrual cycles and plant life.

Death, Key XIII, and The Moon, Key XVIII, are a powerful combination. Tarot of the Sidhe by Emily Carding
A Review (c)Cheryl Lynne Bradley 2011
Tarot of the Sidhe is the first Tarot deck created by Emily Carding. She is also ‘the creator of the Transparent Tarot and Transparent Oracle. Sidhe is a Gaelic word ( pronounced Shee) generally associated, rightly or wrongly as Ms. Carding states, with the world of the Fae. Tarot of the Sidhe is a 78 card painted deck which comes boxed with a 96 page little black book. The book has extremely and somewhat annoyingly small print but contains a lot of good information, some nicely original poetry, a short definition and well selected key words.
Nature's Wisdom Oracle Deck by Mindy Lighthipe
A Review (c) Cheryl Lynne Bradley 2011
Nature’s Wisdom Oracle by an obviously talented artist named Mindy Lighthipe contains 48 cards utilizing familiar symbols and images designed to inspire reconnection to nature and solve all of life’s problems (or so the box says). Nature’s Wisdom has everything including the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees with some vegetables thrown in for good measure. It may truly be the first deck I have every encountered which has challenged me to reconsider my spiritual connection to artichokes.

My Life As A Sunday School Teacher
(c) Marta Martin 2002-2011
I'm a Sunday School teacher. There. I said it. It's a little scary, isn't it? I'm quite certain that some of you are shaking your heads wondering what it is that they teach in Sunday School these days that I would qualify for such a position. Years ago I am sure they were more selective in their choices. I think the fact that I can walk on my own and am breathing was a big plus.
Night Cadence
(c) Nanci Bern, InSight Healing, 2011
In the months of December and January I lost three friends. Others in Tarot Canada have had grave losses as well. This is for us all. Perhaps it is a dark as the sky is these days.
Women Societies Standards: A Short History Lesson
(c) Kathleen O'Neil 2011
AESTHETICS: (As defined by Webster's Dictionary's), the laws and principals determining the beautiful in nature, art, taste, etc. I take this to mean, the beautiful as determined by human nature in accordance with the time. The trouble here is that times change, as does human nature. Therefore, it stands to reason that "standards" for, and of beauty constantly change as well. Add to this the fact that different cultures have their own ideas and standards of beauty, which are also in a state of flux. Trying to "measure up" can be dangerous and damaging psychologically, emotionally and physically. Women’s self-esteem is in the line of fire as well, and is usually among the first casualties.
4 of Swords: The Sleep of Trust
(c) Cheryl Lynne Bradley 2011
The 4 of Swords is a card of complex meaning. Traditional imagery is typically an entombed knight lying in the sleep of death with his hands posed in an attitude of prayer. He is often either holding a sword or lying above one, while 3 swords float above him. The three swords represent logic, reason and detachment holding back our emotions and the single sword is the sword of discernment. It is considered to be a card of exile, solitude, retreat, contemplation and abandonment but it is also a card of illness, palliative hospital stays, surgeries and funerals.
Destructive Thoughts Tarot Layout
(c) Cheryl Lynne Bradley 2011
If we are behaving destructively it is very difficult to put first things first because we have lost our perspective and seem quite determined that it should stay lost. We make mountains out of molehills and worry obsessively about things that we have no power to change. We have high expectations of perfection from ourselves and everyone around us but don’t do anything to make things “perfect” – we just criticize and nothing is ever good enough. We view people with suspicion and mistrust. We think everyone has a hidden agenda and we only see them as weak or of low behaviour.
