Description
Friends of USA (FoUSA), like similiar Friends of Country-of-Service groups for Peace Corps (PC) Volunteers (PCVs) and Returned PCVs (RPCVs), began for email exchanges among PC Crisis Corps volunteers who served in the US Gulf Coast areas affected by the Katrina hurricane of 29 August 2005. FoUSA is now serving a second purpose, as a clearinghouse for the More Peace Corps campaign to double the size of the Peace Corps by its 50th anniversary in 2011. RPCVs from among various COS and regional affiliates of the National Peace Corps Association and other Peace Corps friends -- especially those living in Peace Corps countries -- are invited to provide testimonials that might help us more than double the Peace Corps size by 2010, when the original Friends of USA are considering holding a 5-year anniversary reunion in New Orleans.
