Welcome to the Freecycle(TM) New Hartford, CT Network. Membership is open to everyone who lives or work in the New Hartford, Winsted, Riverton, Winchester, Barkhamsted and surrounding area and want to "recycle" that special something rather than trash it or have a yard sale. Whether it's a chair, fax machine, piano, or an old door, give it away! Or maybe you're looking to acquire something. Nonprofit groups are welcome on the network too. One constraint: everything posted must be free.

All subject lines should start with one of the following headings followed by the name of the item and your town. Don't use re-offered, needed, etc.

Offered:
Taken:
Wanted:
Received:

For example, the subject line of an offered post would read like this: Offered: Ice Skates - (YOUR TOWN)

When offering an item - please consider all requests before you give them away. This gives everyone a chance to respond to your offer.

When the item is taken, another message would be posted by the person who made the offer with the following in the subject line: Taken: Ice Skates - (YOUR TOWN)

Wanted posts are allowed and we know that you will offer more than request.

When you obtain one, you should make another post with the following in the subject line: Received: Ice Skates - (YOUR TOWN)
