Freecycle Ketchikan, Alaska™ is a member of the Freecycle Network™ - a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving and receiving stuff for free in their own towns through individual groups across the globe. Membership is free.
When a member wants to find a new home for something they send an e-mail to the group offering the item to members of the Ketchikan Freecycle group. If a member is needing the item they reply to the person making the offer. It is up to the giver to decide who receives the item and to set up a pickup time and place. Receivers are responsible for picking up the item unless the person giving offers to deliver. There is no limit to the number of offered posts that a member may send and multiple items can be offered in one post. Location of the item must be included: MP 12 North Tongass, Shoreline, Downtown, Bear Valley, Herring Cove, etc.
If a member is in need of an item they may post to the group.
Non-profit organizations may also use Freecycle Ketchikan to post needed items.
Everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for all ages and any member attempting to charge, in cash or barter, for an offered item will be banned.
Ketchikan residents can also join the Prince of Wales Island group:
