This list (the original FreeHomeschoolTools group) was created in July of 2006 as a way for homeschooling families to help each other give their children a great education with less expense. You can think of this group as the homeschoolers freecycle type group. The same type of rules apply here as on an actual Freecycle group.

1.All offers of any kind of Homeschooling materials should be FREE with the exception of postage/handling. Sending items media mail is cheapest. With the cost of gas, the need for "handling" charges is understandable, but it needs to remain very low.

2. NO SPAMMING, HARASSMENT or SELLING is allowed on this group. This is a simple rule. However, members in the past have tried to dodge it by emailing members offline to offer an item they have for sale. Please do not do that.

3. This is a NO chat group. That does not mean that you cannot ask for advice or tips (advice/tips are always welcome on the group page - we can all benefit from that). It merely means that anything that becomes a discussion (or has potential to) needs to be on our sister site - THE CAFE.

When "NO-CHAT" was added to the group name, some members were upset and started another group with the same name. So please bear that in mind. This group, the original one, is no chat. The other group of the same name, is a chat group. (It makes it confusing, I know. The original group has a great reputation and has been mentioned in a few wide reaching magazines so I guess I don't blame the other group for take the name as well.) The "No Chat" rule is in place to make it easier for all members to see the requests and offers. The original 500+ members voted for this rule. It is REALLY helpful. Trying to search through lots of chat messages for the offers and requests can be tedious.
