Foster City Community Emergency Response Team

CERT members are taught by Foster City Fire Department personnel and certified CERT trainers in basic fire suppression, utility control, light search and rescue and disaster medical. Other topics include disaster psychology, communications and disaster incident management. The training involves seven evening sessions and two Saturday sessions for a total of 25 hours. This training consists of interactive training, lectures and concludes with a hands on training exercise.

After completing the CERT program, you will have the opportunity to take additional CERT classes in order to keep your certification up to date.

September 15th (Saturday) - Core Skills Training Day – Each class is 1.5 hrs. will run from 9:15am – 5pm (Cribbing will begin at 8:30am)Classes taught will be: Cribbing, Search Rescue, Radio Operations, Triage, Disaster Medical, Disaster Medical in a Box, Forms, ICP in a Box, Communications, Utilities, Disaster Psychology
