Hello !

Send your flat scouts somewhere fun! Plan ahead and find troops from your "Thinking Day" state or country. Also fun would be finding an older girl traveling on a Destination and see if she wouldn't mind taking a flat buddy. See where they can be for the new year and be sure to get pictures!

PLEASE be responsible when hosting another troops flats. I know there are sometimes issues with mail or accidents. We lost a girl and found her in the bushes in our front yard a year later, still sent her back much the worse for wear. :) For the most part though, try to complete the trade or host time frame you have set up with the other troop. Girls are very disappointed when their mini-me's don't return.

There are many resources out there to find troops that might help out. If there are troops you know planning a big international trip or individual girls going on a "Destination" you might see if they wouldn't mind taking a flat scout along. WAGGGS visitor book, scoutinglinks.com and searches on the web for troops with web sites are great ways of making "cold call" requests for hosts in other countries or states. Send them an email and see what happens, you never know where you might end up.

Also, remember that you don't always have to trade. You can always just see if a troop will host your flats. Also, each girl doesn't have to have her own girl...why not send a Troop Flat?? Either way, enjoy the project and remember to send the girls back when they are done.
