Description

Flash Xer (Flash Fiction Exercise List) is for writing to thrice-weekly prompts for creating flash fiction (aka micro, sudden, skinny, postcard, fast, furious fiction and short-short stories).

Pieces created will be short--500 words more or less, but nothing submitted will be over 1,000 words. Some promps will result in complete short-shorts, and some will result in partial stories. The main thing is to read the prompt and then try writing a new story.

Participation is mandatory. We want no lurkers but want instead serious participants--beginner to more advanced, but serious about creating marketable short-short pieces. Those not meeting minimum requirements will be unsubscribed.

Minimum Participation: one critique per week and one prompt response per week. (More is better but these minimums will keep you as a member.)

Members must be 18 or over and all must use real names (no aliases or pseudonyms). Members agree to give helpful and tactful critiques (no flaming or insulting), and the list is not to be used for soliciting or spamming or advertising.

Prospective members must agree that posts to this workshop are NOT to be distributed elsewhere (except for your own work, of course). Violation of this rule will result in unsubscription. We take copyrights seriously.

Labels for workshop participation:
SUB: Story Title (Prompt Info)
CRIT: Original Story Title (however it was posted)
THEORY: For discussion of flash fiction techniques
HOORAY: For announcing member publishing success
MARKET: For announcing a flash literature market or contest

This list is a branch of the Flash Fiction Writing Workshop: http://home.att.net/~p.casto Members can belong to one or both lists (if they meet the requirements for the main workshop). See URL for more info on the main Flash Fiction Writing Workshop.

We don't have automatic subscription. If you apply to this workshop (a free service to serious writers) you'll receive further information
