I have actually gotten to the stage where I am keeping the knitting on a second
pair of socks. I bought some Deborah Norville Serenity super fine sock yarn in
Indigo (all she has is stripes) and snagged some HiyaHiya needles in a size 0
(wahoo!) which this yarn definately calls for, and am knitting from Wendy
Johnson's new book the second basic sock.
It's all stripey so didn't want to try a pattern as well, just working the basic
sock. What is new to me is the feel of the yarn.
This stuff is half superwash merino, a quarter bamboo, and a quarter nylon, I
guess for strength. It's incredibly soft, and easy to work with although I am
having to pay attention not to split the yarn it's so fine.
These are going to be very comfortable, and easy to wear~easy to care for socks,
and they are VERY THIN. I have not encountered a handmade thin sock like this
before!
Get your coupons and buy the yarn from Joanne Fabrics when you can, and large
feet probably need to pick up three of these. There's only 230 yards per skein.
But ~using coupons my yarn came to less than ten dollars, and I will definately
be going back for more.
Will post the socks when done, too, as I am making them from Wendy's book.
