Message from Ben Schulz being forwarded

Hi Guys can you put the following on yahoo, hotmail and the web site.

I am looking to place an order of Pinnell and Bax sails which will be delivered to the worlds in Barbados and then come back to Australia in the Aussie container.

The dollar is strong so it is the cheapest opportunity to get the sails that have won nearly every worlds for the last ten years.

The prices are in pounds with an approximate Australian dollar price along side.

Spinnaker                             310 pounds          $565 approx

Technora Main Sail            575 pounds          $1050 approx

Jib                                           200 pounds          $380 approx

If you would like to order some gear please let me know asap.

The order must be placed before Christmas to guarantee delivery.

Call 0400 991 606 or email ben@...

Cheers

Ben Schulz

Please make the effort to come along to help make the day a success - spread the word!

Also, please remember our next state heat is at the Port River SC this Sunday (December 6th).  Start time is approx. 2 p.m..
The weather won't be as wild as last weekend so hopefully we can have some good racing.

See you soon.

Please check out the results from the 2009 Victorian State Titles.  We were
mixed in with a couple of other classes so please ignore the other boats in the

It was great to see the turn out of all the Fireballs, and they were certainly
noticed by the other classes.

Thanks to everyone for turning up and making it a great event.

Hi everyone,  looks like the states are going to be great.  Not too late to enter, so if you are thinking about, get onto Royal Geelongs web site and enter.

See below for some information regarding parking etc, might be a bit busy on the Sat...

The Geelong Hospital Gala Day Parade will take place on Saturday 21st November. There will be road closures in Geelong. See the email and attached info from the Council.

>From Melbourne the best route is Via Western Beach: http://www.whereis.com/?id=19D4FFB066687E

>From the West the best route will probably be via McKillop & Geringhap streets: http://www.whereis.com/?id=19E96EB21B918E

Once you get to the club boats & trailers can be left there for the weekend. Parking is available adjacent to the club in Ritchie Blvd ($7 for all day Saturday - so far as I remember!) Free on Sunday - Park in the row away from the shore - NOT in the front row - that is 3 hour only - even on Sunday. Alternative all day parking can be found around Alexandra Avenue & Garden Street (shown in http://www.whereis.com/?id=19E9AFE8C8EBA7)

Subject: Gala Day 2010

Hi Andrew,

Thankyou for your call in regards to the Gala Day Parade taking place on 21 November.

There will be temporary changed traffic conditions in place for the parade which has been detailed below.

EVENT DETAILS
On Saturday 21 November 2009, the parade will assemble on Eastern Park Circuit, off Garden Street, in Eastern Park. At 11.00am the parade proceeds west along the length of Malop Street to the Moorabool Street intersection, turns right into Moorabool Street and concludes at the intersection of Eastern Beach Road and Moorabool Street. Upon the conclusion of the parade, a Family Fun Day will be held in Steampacket Gardens from 12 noon until approximately 5.00pm.

ROAD CLOSURES & OPENING TIMES
Motorists and pedestrians are advised that the full length of Malop Street, from Garden Street to Moorabool Street, will be closed from approximately 10.00am until approximately 12.30pm. East and west vehicular traffic will not be permitted along Malop Street between these times.

North and south vehicular traffic will be permitted to travel along Yarra Street, Bellerine Street and Swanston Streets until approximately 10.45am, or a time earlier at Police discretion. From approximately 10.45am until approximately 12.30pm, north and south traffic will be restricted. Once the parade has passed through these intersections and when it is safe to do so, they will be reopened to allow north and south traffic flow.

North and south vehicular traffic along Moorabool Street between Malop Street and Eastern Beach Road will be restricted from approximately 10.00am until approximately 12.30pm.

Vehicular traffic will be restricted on Brougham Street between Yarra Street and Gheringhap Street from approximately 11.00am – 12.30pm. Access to the Westfield carpark on Brougham Street will be accessible at all times, however, there may be slight delays when the parade is in process when travelling along Brougham Street.

Traffic management treatments will be in place on Eastern Beach Road, between Yarra Street and Gheringhap Street from approximately 11.30am until approximately 12.30pm. This will not be a full road closure, however, motorists are advised that there may be an approximate 15 minute delay when travelling along Eastern Beach Road at these times.

RECOMMENDED ACCESS THE ROYAL GEELONG YACHT CLUB
Motorists accessing the Royal Geelong Yacht Club are recommended to travel via Western Beach Road which turns into Eastern Beach Road. The alternative route would be Gheringhap Street, to Eastern Beach Road.

Please be advised that there will be a high traffic levels in the vicinity between approximately 11.00am - 1.00pm due to the road closures for the parade. Please set aside adequate time to travel to your destination or travel before or after these times to avoid delays.

Please see attached map for reference.

If you have any questions, or would like further details, please contact me on the details below.

Kind regards,
Priscilla

Hi all,

The drop dead date on going to Barbados is getting closer and closer. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and those of you who dont get there will be very disappointed when they hear the stories from those of us who go.

Just remember the GFC in Australia is over and the Australian dollar is at an all time high, so......

To help with your decision making the Tourism board of Barbados has created a slide deck prepared specifically for us fireball sailors, so I recommend you download it and have a look.  The latest projections I have heard is 80 to 100 fireballs.

One of the great concepts for the Worlds in Thailand was to ensure that the non-sailing participants also had a great time and were included in all the events.  That theme is going to be carried through to this regatta, so feel free to leave the boat behind.

The file can be found at

Please download it and take a few minutes to re evaluate where you want to be next May...

Cheers

Chris

Hi All,

Remember the state titles are coming up on the 21st 22nd November at
Royal Geelong YC. We are running as a part of their OTB regatta.

To enter go to http://www.topyachtsoftware.com/db/otb/entry_menu.php?EventID=15

and remember to do it by the 6th of November or you will get a late
entry fee.

Also note that for this year only IFAV is providing free membership
for the 09/10 season if you have not been a member before. Otherwise
you will be able to sign up on the day at Geelong.

If you have any queries - please get back to me.

Cheers

Chris
