BRAIN TEASER #23
11/30/2001

"MIRACLES PERFORMED BY JESUS"

This BrainTeaser is going to require a little bit more
BIBLE SEARCHING time.

Your QUEST is to find ALL 35 miracles that
Jesus performed PRIOR to His resurrection. You can
restrict yourself to the 4 Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke,
and John. And PLEASE feel free to use what we call the
"Harmony of the Gospels" (usually found in the back of
most Bibles) to make double sure that you are NOT
counting the same miracle over again in one of the other
3 Gospels. You will find that some miracles can be listed
in all 4 Gospels.

This will be one of the most exciting BrainTeasers you will
ever do for it is TOTALLY about the life of Jesus. And if
you believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and
today, and forever, as it is written in Hebrews 13:8, then
each one of His miracles can be applied directly to your
life today and will help you in your day to day living.

Answers will be sent out later this week so you all will
have plenty of time to really get involved with this
BrainTeaser. Take you time! Get help from family and
friends and even Sunday School classes or Bible study
groups. ENJOY your trek through the LIVING Word of
God!!!

In the spaces provided give each miracle the Lord
performed BEFORE His resurrection and give Scripture
references for each. If the miracle appears in more than
one Gospel, be sure to give all Gospel references.

My mother, Doris Nyquist, passsed away early Friday, October 10th. Many of
you know she was an ordained minister, missionary, assocaiate pastor, Bible
teacher, and was healed of her MS in late 1961. Mom also was active with the
Find the Bible Verse Ministry. Mom had 3 strokes on Christmas day in 2002 and
slowly recovered, but was never really the same as far as her ability with
memory and speech. She had a series of smaller strokes a few years later and a
few weeks ago fell and broke her hip. She was being transferred to a rehab
center when she had a brain aneurysm and quickly went to be with her Lord and
Saviour and my dad (who passed away in December of 1968) (and I hope my
brother, who passed away in August of this year). At the present time it is not
clear if I will be able to attend her funeral due to health issues and other
family issues. Please keep in your prayers my sister, Michelle, and all of my
mom's grandkids. I would appreciate your prayers also for my mom was more than
special in my life. Because of her healing in November of 1961 I gave my life
over to the Lord and full time service to Him. I have been walking with Jesus
since 1961 and in all of that time I have never met a finer Christian
example and one whose life was a rock of faith that kept me grounded in Christ.
She
is one of the few, like the Apostle Paul, who could easily have said (but
never did) follow me as I follow the Lord. Mom never felt worthy enough of all
that the Lord had done for her on Calvary. Yet, she came to accept divine
healing as part of Calvary and in turn traveled the country telling of her
miracle healing of MS. All of you who know me, know how terrible this loss is
to
me YET also know how I rejoice that she is now with family, friends, and our
Lord on heaven's shore. Thanks for your prayers and love and support during
this time of sorrow and loss. God bless you all!

BIBLE BRAINTEASER
September 21, 2007

Can YOU find it in the Bible?

Here are a number of very odd quotations found throughout the Scriptures OR
ARE THEY FOUND IN THE BIBLE AT ALL?

In this Bible Brainteaser you have two objectives:

  1. Determine if the quotation is in the Bible. If it is NOT, write in the
space: NOT IN THE BIBLE.

2. If the quotation is found in the Bible, record where it can be found in
the Bible. Some of the wording might be a little different than found in the
Bible but that is only to make this Bible Brainteaser a little more
interesting and to try and confuse you. I might even have re-written the entire
quote
YET it will still be VERY CLEAR the quote is taken from the Word of God. I
might use the word YOU instead of the word THOU or use the word WENT instead of
the phrase GO FORTH or the word MURDER instead of the word KILL. If the
quotation is close, and you have a verse in the Bible that is pretty close to
it,
give the place in the Word where you think it can be found and move on to the
next quote.

3. There are 20 quotes and each is worth 5 points for a total score of 100.
The answers will be posted Monday, September 24, along with the grading
system.

WEDNESDAY'S BIBLE RIDDLE WAS:

TRUE OR FALSE

The Apostle Paul NEVER baptized anyone in order that no one would be able to
cause problems by saying they had been baptized by him.

ANSWER: FALSE. No doubt many of you missed this one by not reading FAR
enough in the chapter. If you only read to VERSE 14 of 1st Corinthians 1, you
would have responded the statement was TRUE. However, by reading a few verses
farther (verses 14-16) you would have seen the statement was in fact, FALSE,
for
Paul baptized 3 people. Always remember to read AROUND a verse to be double
sure of what you are reading. We call that reading in context. Otherwise you
could be wrong or lead someone wrong. This was a REAL Bible Riddle!

             HINT ANSWERS

FRIDAY'S BIBLE RIDDLE WAS:

SETH WAS TO ADAM (Genesis 4)
AS
(_________) WAS TO AMRAM
AS
(_________) WAS TO JESSE. (1st Samuel 17).

ANSWER: I should have been more specific in what I was looking for in this
Bible Riddle. Most of you had the GENERAL answer but no one had the SPECIFIC
answer that made the Bible Riddle make sense. Most of you answered: Seth was
to Adam as Moses was to Amram as David was to Jesse. Yes, generally speaking
they were all sons of those parents. However, if you were to have dug deeper,
the specific answer would have been Seth was to Adam (with Seth being the 3rd
child of Adam) as Moses was to Amram (NOTE: Moses was NOT the 3rd son but
the 3rd child born to Amram) as Shammah was to Jesse (1st Samuel 17). Next time
I will do my best to explain myself a little better.
