Welcome to the Filipino-American_Network yahoogroup. The Filipino-American_Network is a free listserve created by Oregon-based community activist Melissa Nolledo in July of 2003. It is designed to keep Filipino-Americans informed and connected to the larger Fil-Am and Asian American community. It is also a pipeline for Asian Americans interested in promoting their activities or extending invitations to Filipino-American communities all over the USA. The eclectic composition of this group includes community representatives from various Filipino-American associations in virtually every state of the USA, the Philippines, and from other countries like Canada, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Japan.

This is an ANNOUNCEMENT-ONLY e-group and not intended as a discussion forum. Yahoogroup members will receive: online newsletters, community news and press releases, information on conferences, workshops, movie/book reviews, scholarships, concerts and other events open to the Fil-Am community and general public. Members will also have access to the calendar and files section of the yahoogroup. Our goal is primarily to let you know about all the good things that are happening in the Filipino-American communities and be the main artery to disseminating information on a nationwide level. It is designed to eliminate the need to cross-post important news or announcements to other listservs.

We hope this site, in its evolving stages, becomes a part of your online experience and "real life" organizing of projects that benefit Filipino-Americans and the communities in which they live, learn, and lead.
