A Fiber Arts forum for sharing news, education, events and connections between spinners, weavers, needleworkers and yarn crafters in the Rio Grande Valley and elsewhere. We welcome participation by year round Rio Grande Valley residents, by Winter Texan part timers and by other Fiber Arts friends throughout the nation and the world! The Rio Grande Valley of South Texas is located near the border with Mexico. Although a rich fiber arts heritage at one time existed in the local cultures, much of that history has today been lost, undervalued or forgotten. Our firm hope is to help revive the fiber arts crafts, especially that of spinning and weaving, through education, sharing of skills and fellowship and by recovering the history of this region.
