Description
Welcome to Fiber Art Traders, a Mail Art Group. This group is owned by fiber artist, Normajean Brevik who is a writer, designer and teacher of fiber arts. Her patterns can be found at, http://sewnordic.blogspot.com/ She's written for Quilting Arts, Cloth, Paper, Scissors, Somerset and many other magazines. Many of our members are acclaimed fiber artists but we embrace artists of all skill levels in this group. We offer a safe and nurturing environment where accountability is a key component in organized mail art trades.
We trade fiber art items like: Fiber Postcards (PC's), Art Trading Cards (ATC's), Artist Trading Pins (ATP's), Artist Trading Dolls (ATD's), Plus Size Inchies (PSI's), fiber books and pages, and fiber ornaments, to name a few. We encourage members to host trades and share their experience with new tools and techniques with us.
We host teaching segments and sometime offer free patterns to our group members. We encourage participation in National and International challenges and contests to help members grow in their art. We also collaborate on charity and community service work from time to time.
We welcome suggestions and input from you for new trades. We ask that you participate in at least one group trade a year to remain in the group. Our trades are kept small to allow for a quicker turnaround and will usually range from 1 to 10 pieces. So if you are a newbie or an old hand at fiber art trading, join us for some fun. We look forward to getting to know you.
