Description

Federal_Prison_Watch is a Yahoo discussion group created by Ed Bales, Managing Director of Federal Prison Consultants, LLC. Moderator of this Discussion Group is Adam Hurst, a staff member of Federal Prison Consultants, LLC.

The primary focus of this discussion group is to answer any questions regarding the Federal Bureau of Prisons, their Program Statements, Policies and Procedures. Additionally, we are here to address any concerns the public may have regarding the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Latest News: On April 9, 2008, The Second Chance Act of 2007 was signed into law. To read the official Press Release go to www.SecondChanceActOf2007.com. The act establishes two changes for Federal Prison Inmates, as follows:

1. Maximum Half-Way House Time has been increased to twelve (12) months, from the prior six (6) month maximum. This DOES NOT mean that Federal Inmates will be getting the maximum. What it means is that a Federal Inmate can receive from one (1) month to twelve (12) months and anything over six (6) months must be approved by the Regional Director.

2. The Act establishes a new practice for Federal Inmates aged 65 and older who have completed 75% or more of their sentence. They MAY be able to participate in a pilot program to do the last 12 months in their sentence in Home Confinement. We believe it will be some time before this is implemented because the Federal Bureau of Prisons must establish a facility for this pilot program.

Please contact Mr. Bales directly at 1-888-5-PRISON - Extension 101 to receive a free assessment consultation.

Sincerely,

Adam K. Hurst
