Description

CQ CQ CQ FT-901/902 Competition Grade HF Transceivers!

The Fox Tango club is Rated G...No politics, religion or crude language or jokes. We're all about camaraderie and enjoying the Ham Radio Hobby! And we're proud to be a forum that WELCOMES all new Hams to our ranks. Please identify yourself or your amateur call sign when you sign in.

This group is dedicated to owners and those interested in the FT-901 FT-902 series of radios produced by Yaesu. If you own, or are thinking of owning a Yaesu FT-901 or 902, consider joining our group. Discussion of illegal mods and operation of these rigs is strictly forbidden.

The list owner and his wife moved from California to Virginia in June 2003. The moderator owns a FT-901DM, which he bought on eBay. The radio was in good condition, but had a number of ‘quirks’ that needed to be addressed, before putting it on the air. Prior to moving, he was employed by a major aircraft manufacturer as an electronics technician at a military flight simulator site. He has been interested in Amateur Radio and electronics since the 70s, when he was in Jr. High School in Iowa. He joined the Air Force in the early 80s and was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base, in Illinois, where a good friend of his formally introduced him to ham radio. However, he wasn't licensed until 2001 at Travis A.F.B., in California, where his wife was stationed. While living in California, Steven upgraded to General. He enjoys repairing radios and working HF from his Hampton, Virginia QTH, as well as the SUV.

Come on in, sit down, turn on the radio's heater switch, cook off some electrons from the filament and let's make some contacts!
