A neighborhood watch program consists of neighbors and businesses watching out for neighbors and businesses and taking the time to learn what is normal for their neighborhood and what is not normal.
Neighborhood watch members immediately reporting anything that is suspicious or out of the ordinary to the Police, Fire or other appropriate agency. Periodically, meeting with your neighbors to discuss issues and inviting experts to address specific concerns.
The Fan District Association's Safety Committee in Richmond, Virginia uses this group to communicate among members of their Neighborhood Watch, items concerning crime prevention, fire safety, disaster preparedness, safety in the home and other issues pertaining to living in the Fan.
Membership is limited to those who live, work, own property or a business in the Fan District and public safety officials.
We also request the use of your name and address and/or affiliation to the Fan, either in your email address or Yahoo profile. A Yahoo membership and profile are required by Yahoo the provider of the service. In addition it will allow each user to know the other users and provide security to the list.
