Evolutionary Activism is social change work inspired by the amazing 13.7 billion year Great Story of evolution -- a story of unceasing creativity and increasingly elegant complexity, from the Big Bang till now. Evolutionary activists know that we are all related as part of that Story. We are stardust. We are ecosystems and civilizations of microorganisms. And we are participants in the evolution that is unfolding now -- whether we know it or not.

Evolutionary activists know the creative power of the universe resides in every one of us and in our (potentially) wise interactions. We also know that we can find innovative guidance for our social change work from the wise dynamics of evolution, knowledge readily available from the ongoing discoveries of evolutionary science.

Activism is part of evolution unfolding today. Evolutionary activists use evolutionary understandings -- especially powerfully creative forms of conversation -- to transform social systems, cultures, and technologies so humanity can use its emerging crises to learn how to maintain a wholesome "fit" with our changing environment.

This list was launched around Tom Atlee's 2009 book REFLECTIONS ON EVOLUTIONARY ACTIVISM: ESSAYS, POEMS AND PRAYERS FROM AN EMERGING FIELD OF SACRED SOCIAL CHANGE. It is open to anyone who is interested in the idea of evolutionary activism and co-creating a movement for the conscious evolution of social systems, cultures and technologies.
