This list is for families with adopted children from Ethiopia. Information about Ethiopian culture, orphanages can be shared & families can network with each other at all stages of one's adoption journey.

Members can be prospective parents regardless of their country of origin. We have many members for whom English is a second language. Be sensitive to this when discussing adoption rules & please specify your country when you do.

Although large, this list is (generally - some flame wars) a supportive place where people have felt comfortable to discuss the often emotional journey adoption, the joys & frustrations, their fears and hopes. We also discuss hard topics like corruption, attachment issues, post adoption depression... Unfortunately there have been some flame wars (there as of March 14 there are over 6200 people on this list). Please try to ignore the flame wars (the delete button is handy).

After you apply (in the message box please state why you are applying for group membership or you request will be automatically denied), you will receive a set of our guidelines when approved. You do NOT need to reply to the list owner when you receive the guidelines. Please note that any reference to religion/god needs a warning in the subject line. We have people on this list from all faiths and try very hard to be welcoming to all.
