Description

Genealogy discussion group for study and research of the Thomas Estes (Estridge) and Elizabeth Burroughs descendants of Orange County, North Carolina.

Children:
Martha Estes married James Cheek.
Elizabeth Estes married Josiah Pitman.
Burroughs Estes married Martha Loyd.
Susannah Estes married John Cheek.

Thomas was a Tory Captain in the Revolutionary War and was convicted of treason and sentenced to hang. His neighbors petitioned the Court to pardon him because he had a wife and several small children. He was pardoned on condition that he join the North Carolina State Militia for one year.


Thomas Estes (1799-1886), son of Burroughs, pioneer of Arkansas and Washington.
