Description

Welcome to Episcopal Solitaries. Membership to this list is restricted to canonically recognized Episcopal Solitaries, all explorers interested in becoming a Christian Solitary or who those who assist in the discernment process such as spiritual directors, bishops and clergy, etc. It is hoped that this list may be come a resource for the Episcopal Church. There are more and more of us exploring this path and so I thought to create a place where we could come together to share our journeys.

Let me make it very clear that this list has no official authority within the Episcopal Church. It is solely a place to get what information is available, to hash out any questions we may have and to serve as mutual support. All we are is people trying to help each other with a little known and little understood vocation.

The Rules

1) Courtesy at all times. This will be strictly enforced because this list just has to be a safe place.

2) Stay on topic.

This is not the place to discuss controversial subjects. Goodness knows we all have issues and have we all noticed what the Anglican Communion is going through these days? It may be that such subjects may touch on one's vocation but their discussion will be limited to vocation. That will be hard, I know, but I betcha we can do it.

3) All new members will be moderated. There are a few reasons for that. One is to avoid spammers and phishers. The other is to make sure that posters have a legitimate reason for being here. Basically, the reason for new member moderation is to make this list a safe place and that members stay on topic, which is limited for this list.

4) Please post to the list in the first person. Members of this list are to be sure to identify what you say in terms such"according to what I've read/learned/experienced" or "IMO" or "I think/feel/believe" etc.

Listowner is Sr Gloriamarie Amalfitano, vowed Solitary in San Diego, who had to discover all this infor for herself and hopes to help others.
