Encounter-EMEM is an international email list and Website for networking about nonviolent Israel-Palestine PEACE ACTIVITIES (not theoretical discussions). Subscribers to EMEM are in various countries around the world.

The idea for this group was born on September 3, 1999, at the Encounter for Middle East Peace Activists Conference in Jerusalem-Al Quds.

You are warmly invited to join us and we hope you'll take full advantage of it to connect with others in the service of Israel/Palestine peace.

EMEM subscribers are encouraged to advise media professionals of cooperative (Moslem/Christian/Jewish/Humanist) peace activities and urge them to write about the activities, so people around the world will know that there are efforts by Palestinians and Israelis, by Moslems, Christians and Jews, to bring about a just and equitable peace in Palestine and Israel.

By informing the media and encouraging them to publicize these activities, the public will learn what the enemies of peace try to hide; other peace minded people will be encouraged by the knowledge that the left is alive and active. People around the world must learn that these activities occur - that good relations are possible.

Let this forum serve the interests of reconciliation and common purpose.
