Description

From 1948 to 1960, the "Empress of France" passenger ship carried passengers and crew from Liverpool, England across the Atlantic to Montreal and Quebec, Canada. From 1928 to 1947, under the name the "Duchess of Bedford", before the ship was re-outfitted had it's name changed, it had carried passengers on the same route and served in war.

Many immigrants travelled from Britain and Europe to Canada on the Empress, while there were also those who travelled in the other direction, from Canada to Liverpool. This list is for those seeking answers to questions about a particular voyage or person who travelled on the ship, or who are otherwise interested in the history of the Empress.
