THE JEFFERSON AVENUE MISSION
*120 YEARS OF GOD'S GRACE * 1889 - 2009*
Emmaus began as the "Jefferson Avenue Mission" in 1889, first serving schoolchildren in the Fox Park and McKinley Heights neighborhoods. Although worship services also began that year, the Emmaus congregation was not founded until 1894.
Emmaus Lutheran School closed in 1974. However, Emmaus congregation still maintains a vibrant outreach to the community, actively sharing the Gospel in Word and Sacrament.
SERVICE SCHEDULE:
Children's Sunday School: 9:00 am at the church (begins with breakfast)
Adult Bible Study: 9:15 am at the church
Sunday Divine Service: 10:30 am at the church
