This group was created in May 2007. The name EmeraldParents just means Seattle parents. It is a platform to promote family interaction in the long run, it is not affilicated to any business or organization. The previous name littlenewtons was picked because the starting families had their kid(s) in the Little Newton daycare. As the group is growing, the name was changed in March 2009 to avoid any confusion. There are 110 Chinese families in this group by the date this description is updated. Any family is welcomed to join by reference.

Shortterm goal: share information of family events and organize activities for our kids.

Longterm goal: Let our kids be good friends, as well as the parents.

Every month, we have one member volunteered to search for weekend public events and send the information to the group. It can be served as a guide for your weekend planning, the benefit is needless to say. If any member is interested in some activity, he/she is welcomed to send an email to the group and asking others to join. Group activities organized by our group is free style and voluntary.

Every member is encouraged to participate, either organizing activities, sharing information, or at least responding to emails/polls in a reasonable way. The owner and the moderators reserve the right to decide what is proper topic for this group, and to maintain the membership.
