We are a group of writers and aspiring writers who meet to socialize, encourage each other, and provide a critique of one another's work. We are a fairly small, intimate group typically numbering from 5 to 10 members. We meet every Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Spot Coffee on the corner of Delaware Avenue and E. Chippewa Street in Buffalo, NY.
New members are always welcome. Please feel free to join us at Spot next Wednesday. To find us, go to the back and look for us, usually sitting at a table with lots of papers in front of us. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself!
For more information, you can request membership via this Yahoo Group, or visit our Web page: www.ElmwoodWritersGroup.org.
The focus of each meeting is to critique or "workshop" writing that members are looking to improve through group feedback. We also discuss topics related to the writing profession, plan public readings, and anything else that members are interested in pursuing.
You don't have to be a professional to join us; we have people running the gamut from wannabees, hopeful screenwriters and poets, to magazine contributors, professional reviewers and writers. Whether you’re a student or a sage, an aspiring novelist or published historian, a housewife (househusband?) or single parent, young or old, experienced or don’t know which end of the pencil to use, please stop by and check us out. All you have to have is a desire to fill up blank pages with your words.
You are welcome to sign up to join this group, but please be advised that you will not be granted membership until you show up at a meeting!!
