Description

This discussion approved membership only.
We hope lay meditators, monastics, and lay people will join!
Looking for an honest, out in the open discussion about the state of Buddhism in this century.
This is now openly discussed by higher monastics in Asia who have concerns about how people value it for this time.
The Pali suttas are referred to by Sister Khema and occasionally to verify some instructions.
1. What is the same in ALL traditions of Buddhism?
2.How did Buddhist Teaching change across time?
3. What things are working well in meditation today within any traditions?
4. Can the Buddha's investigation pattern be repeated today?
5. Did the Buddha leave any modes of progress to guide us?
6. Did the Buddha leave drills and progress charts to help our development?
7. Can Buddhist practice actually help my daily life?
Sutta approach to practice will be discussed and how to use it.
8.Did the Buddha ever tell us what meditations didn’t work for him?
Please introduce more questions!
Are there specific words that help more than others when learning the meditation?
Do you need help with your practice?

Much of what is talked about here is based on the training approach, recovered from the texts, by Most Ven. “Bhante” Vimalaramsi, Abbot, Co-founder, and main guiding teacher at (DSMC) Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center in Annapolis, MO
Sister Khema from DSMC will be the primary guide for this project.
