Hi everyone:

I'm sure some of you have probably received the one described below and have
taken the appropriate action, but for those of who haven't, I received the
message below from one of the OTR (Old Time Radio) groups I'm on.
Hopefully, the person responsible will be held accountable.

Incidentally, while this won't really affect what we Hams do on Yahoo!
Groups, I've been told they will start stripping email attachments in email
sent to their servers for mass distribution.  In short, if you need to
attach something to an email, either send the email DIRECTLY to the person
to whom the email is intended OR utilize the FILES area of the group page if
at all possible (I know this is possible in the ARAAN Group).

Cheers for now & 73  :-)

I am having an issue with the text window all of a sudden.

For some odd reason, the text window will not acknoledge the carriage
return/line feed from the server and, consequently, all the text runs
to the right hand side of the page.

Is this a local issue or is there a problem with the server. The
system was running fine this morning and then all of a sudden this
problem cropped up.

Any ideas??

BTW, an uninstall/reinstall did not fix the problem.

I have noticed during recent weeks that more and more pc user's have
been using my link, which is great. However is you intend on using
links and repeaters it is your responsability to control unknown
sounds comming from your computer. Ie text messaging alarm, callsign
alarm, yahoo messenger, msn and other programs running under echolink.
This is a real issue and needs to be addressed. I would ask all the
members of this group if your hear such things please inform the
operator of this issue.

This is the reason I have two soundcards and use the second soundcard for
Echolink. Avoids all the IM and Windows noises on the link. :)

Hello All, can anyone give me step by step instructions for setting
up the following: I have a Bellsouth DSL Router Westell Model A90-
210030-04 and a Linksys 10/100 5 port Hub Model NH1005, v2...My
connection is from a networked laptop computer via ethernet
cable...I
believe the problem may be with the port configuration-I have tried
troubleshooting tips on echolink page and tips posted here...The
problem is I can load Echolink and see station list but am not able
to connect (from my computer) but other people say they can see me
connect.and I can hear my station announced on local RF radio link
frequency..I have tried the trouble shooting steps here to no
avail..Any help would be grealy appreciated-73's, Thanks!
Do I need to configure something on westell 192.168.1.254 config
page?

I thought setting up and configuring .52 was going to be the easy
part, but looks like compiling and running make file was a snap.

Iv downloaded both thebrige .52 packages for *nix and windows. I ran
gcc and make on Linux Redhat 9 and seem to have it tbd compiled OK.
Although when trying to run, I dont get download of stations list
running by itself.

My server does set behind a firewall but is on the DMZ port. Also
my WNT server is behind firewall too (opened port triggering ports
5198 and 5199) seems to work great with EchoLink software for past
year.

If I run tbd on Linux server with *WA0D* and Echolinux on WNT server.
The Linux with tbd starting up gets station list OK. But I still
cannot login into it. I would like the Linux box to run tbd.

As a back up I setup a laptop and placed it infront of the fire wall
(which the router is a ways from the Linux box makes it diffcult to
plug a cable into external conection). It too has the same problems
as the LINUX box.

So I think maybe I dont have something set properly in conf file,
which at this point is still a mystery to me.

Anyone seen this issue or know how to resolve the problem or can e-
mail me a config file known to work with only me re-editing my call
and passwords?

Thanks for help in advance,

Randy

PS:
If e-mailing config file to help send to my call (up-above)atARRL.net
Thanks.

Hi all,

Im trying to get my gateway working with echolink on my home network
which is as follows.

Host computer is running XP via ADSL and echolink works AOK (with or
without norton firewall) however 2 other computers connected on the
network won't work, one is running XP and the other is running
windows 98. Both computers display stations etc. but when I try &
connect they time out. I'm not using a router only a 5 way
switch/hub. I have tried all the things suggested on the FAQ's &
disabled my firewall etc. but I still can't get either computer to
work, however as I said before the host computer connected directly
via a USB adsl modem (no firewall in modem) works without any
problems.

Any suggestions please.
