I will be at War this year (my first) :) I am unsure of wether or not I can
attend Trillium, but I'll likely be running the fencing lists at Murder Melee.
(BTW, I should have a schedule up for that soon.)

Looking forward to jumping into the fray at Pensic,

Yoshi :)

Greetings from Edward the Red,

I guess that would be me :)
TRM asked me at Pikemans Pleasure to be their Rapier champion, with one
of my primary responsibilities being to lead our troops in the massed
rapier battles at Pennsic.
I know His Majesty is plannning on fighting with us in the 2 massed
rapier battles at Pennsic -- he and I had a great time in the 2 rapier
battles last year, and are looking forward to more of the same this year ;)

If everyone who's planning to be fencing at Pennsic could contact me,
either on E_Rapier or via email to patchett@sybase. com, that would be great.

I'm planning to be at Murder Melee ( just for the Saturday ) and at
Trillium war the next weekend, probably for Friday/Saturday/ Sunday.
With luck we can get some good rapier Melee fighting/practice in at both
of those events.
Does anyone here know who is organizing the rapier fighting for those 2
events?
How many people are planning to attend Melee/Trilliums and fighting?

I'm looking forward to some great fencing this summer, and with luck
fielding an even bigger rapier melee force at Pennsic this year :)
-Edward

Greetings everyone,

A friendly reminder to all about our practices on Monday evenings at the Aviary
in Oak Knoll Park in Hamilton. Directions are posted on the Ben Dunfirth
website. Practices run from 6:30pm till dark. Of late, we've started getting
some better turnouts, so I hope it's a trend that continues. :)

Hi All,

I'm not going to be scheduling authorizations but it would be helpful
to know if I should be expecting any. We'll do our best to make time
for them as they come up. There should be no shortage of Marshals.

Maybe if you were younger it would be possible....

Just kidding.

I'm sure we can make time for this. Did you have a preferred time
slot? As long as it doesn't conflict with courts or tournaments, there
shouldn't be a problem.

Hi!

I would like to go for my dagger auth which I have practiced as much as
possible. I have my own dagger so equipment would not be an issue. I would like
to try for a rigid parry but I have not practiced as much with this and do not
have my own equipment for it.

Thanks.

Greetings fellow fencers,

I'm sore and exhausted from teardown and cleanup today, but before I drop for a
twelve hour nap, I wanted to thank everyone who attended Murder Melee this
weekend. I thought the tournament, considering I had little time to really plan
anything, went rather well, and I know everyone who participated in the woods
battle loved it. A special thanks to his Majesty for joining us in the woods,
and Ed The Red for his advice and instruction on woods melee battles, it was a
great lesson for us all. As a brand new marshall, I admit that I was a little
nervous, and not quite as prepared as I wanted to be, and any suggestions or
comments are appreciated. :)

Congradulations once again to Eyrny for winning the tournament by a wide
margin... to Jessica for winning among fencers authorized less than a year... to
Giovanni, for continuing to be an example to the rest of us... and to Nikolai,
who for the first time in recent memory, fenced!! lol

Also, special congradulations to Gerrard, who received a scroll before the
rapier tournament, and during court was inducted into the Order of the Wain!
Wassail!!

Yours in service,

Kurushima Yoshiatsu

And thanks to Yoshi for taking over the duties of Baronial Marshal from me!

Six long years as BRM had burnt me out a bit, but maybe I'll get a
little bit of the enthusiasm back under Yoshi's direction. :-)

On a similar note, could everyone please check their gear bags. My
dagger scabbard went for a walk on Saturday. It's a PVC tube covered
with black hockey tape and has copper top and bottom fittings. It
would be nice to get back. Also gone walking were a pair of brand-new
Mark's Workhouse gloves that Baudoin loaned me for the day. Much
appreciated to anyone who can locate these items for me.

Most gracious greetings from The The Honourable Honourable Lord Gerrard
Carpentarius.
Apparently I now have a stutter ;-)

Yes I goofed off at Murder Melee'.
Just needed a very short break and recharge.
Thank you sooooo much for the Scroll. I shall frame and hang it in a prominent
place.

So for those of you who may not be aware I was triple gotcha-ed at Murder.
A wonderful woman sang a song about my evilness.
Those funny dressed fencers got me with an absolutely magnificent scroll.
Then those conspiring silly but lovable Majesties indoctrinated me into the
Order of the Wain.

You know ya really just ... at times ... are at a loss for words. But 3 times in
one event.
Remember I'm not exactly a young guy. So ... well ...Thank You does not even
begin to express in words what I feel.

So PLEASE kill me at Trillium War !!!

Greetings!

With preparation for War of the Trilliums I won't have the time to run a
rapier practice this coming Tuesday so consider it officially cancelled. I
will be at W of T from Wednesday afternoon until Sunday afternoon so if
people want to get together and work on longsword technique or anything else
for that matter, I'm sure some time can be arranged.

Albrecht
