Drama
in Second Language Acquisition
January 16 - February 26, 2006From theater games to role plays to full-scale productions, language teachers throughout the world have long recognized the value of drama in all its forms.
Building upon TESOL-Drama's 2005 EV Online Workshop, "Effective Techniques for Teaching English Through Drama" and 2004's, "Let's Put on a Play," our workshop will focus on a discussion of theories that support the use of drama in second language acquisition. We will also discuss drama activities that are related to the theories we cover and solicit specific examples of participant projects through posting of descriptive pictures, sound, and video.
This group is for...
All ESOL teachers who have an interest in teaching English through drama at the elementary, secondary, or tertiary levels.
Moderators
Gary Carkin, Judy Trupin, Nigel Caplan, Jill Christopher, Marc Sheffner
Guest discussion leaders: Julie O'Sullivan and Sarah Dodson
