This list is for single parents who are home educating or considering home education for their families. Whilst there is a 'general' email list for home educators, sometimes single parents face unique problems. This list is to allow single parents to offer support, experience and information relating to their situation.

The charity "Education Otherwise" is a UK-based membership organisation which provides support and information for families whose children are being educated outside school, and for those who wish to uphold the freedom of families to take responsibility for the education of their children.

The comments on this list represent the views of the subscribers alone, and although it can be very helpful to hear the views and experiences of list members, the Trustees of Education Otherwise recommend that subscribers do not treat this is as a substitute for professional advice.

EO also has a website: www.education-otherwise.org including a members only section with members forums for parents to exchange information and support and also 3 children's boards where children can chat and make friends. EO runs a Helpline and has a team of volunteers. Members receive bi-monthly newsletters, a contact list to get in touch with local home educators, large discounts on LearnPremium (an online curriculum resource), and many other benefits.
