Guys and Ladies, the Maple Plain fly-in was a success with a good turnout. The word got out to the Winsted boys and quite a few of them showed up with their aircraft. My old flying buddy Jerry Jagerson showed up and it was good to see him. Laurie and Kathy LaVasseur planned the food and put on a very good meal. For those people that wanted them, we had 1/3 lb burgers and they were good! The fly-in could not have been possible without them. Thanks to Jon LaVasseur, Marty Woods, and Vince Burnhart for helping out. There were some newcomers who were interested in our light aircraft and we filled them in on the details of how to get into the sport. The club took in $135 with 27 people showing up. We will take money out for the food expenses and return the balance to the club account. We all had a good time with a cheap airshow from a crazy ultralight pilot (no not Corky). Speaking of the old fart, where was he? I'm in the process of planning the Meier fly-in at Prescott. If this doesn't happen, we will have something at Forest Lake next month. Here are some pictures that I took yesterday …. Ralph Burlingame MUA President |
