Description
This forum is meant to be a gathering place for owners of DYNA Mechtronics Dyna Myte 3000 and other model number cnc lathes. "Dyna" milliing machine owners are welcome too as well as non-owners. A free exchange of experiences, ideas and thoughts about the good qualities, the limitations, modifications and upgrades of these lathes is encouraged. I've started this group simply because I couldn't find a dedicated Dyna Myte cnc turning center forum anywhere. I have bought a used Dyna Myte 3000 cnc lathe - unfortunately it has been enmeshed in litigation on the seller's end, and I'm still waiting for it.
As more and more of these great, compact, turning centers are being replaced by schools they are coming onto the market at affordable prices on eBay, Craig's List and other places for the hobbyist. Many have seen only moderate use and are in very good condition. When used for the purposes that they were designed to be used for (making small, precision parts and finishing operations) they are ideally suited for many small shops and model engineers. They were not made for hogging off great amounts of metal. When new the price for this cnc lathe was $19,000.
Models DM1900, DM3000, DM3000H, DM4400 & DM4000 were in production from 1980 until 1996. Limited parts are available for the DM1900, DM3000 and DM3000H. Dyna Driver Boards can be repaired. No support is available for models DM4000 and The DM4400. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 units of the Dyna Myte 3000 were sold in the U.S.A.. Models DM2800, DM3300, DM4400M are still fully supported.
In addition, forum members may offer to buy and sell DynaMechronic CNC lathes, parts, tooling and services on this forum; however, at all times "caveat emptor" - let the buyer beware. As the list owner I accept no responsibility for any transactions initiated on this forum and entered into. Buyers and sellers are on their own.
