Greetings out there in DrummerLand!!!

I have a very special favor to ask of all the members of this drumming
community.  If you've been watching this list you've seen that since last April
The Blue Sky Collective in Lakewood has been hosting a drum circle on the 2nd /
4th Fridays of the month.

Myself and many other people have been supporting The Blue Sky Collective with
our creative talents.  We have grown into large community of very creative
musicians and artists.   The Blue Sky Collective is bursting with creativity and
has become our home.

This last Thursday, Jen Schafer-Habib, the primary manager of The Blue Sky
Collective was informed that the building had been sold and that The Blue Sky
Collective had 18 days to vacate the building.  The Blue Sky Collective had been
paying rent on time and on a regular basis.  The owner of the building had no
issues with The Blue Sky collective and our eviction was a total surprise to all
of us.  It's a long, convoluted tale of deceit and double dealing by a bank and
a real estate developer.  This article will give you some of the details.

We are attempting to start a media blitz.  We are going to have a general
gathering of interested people at 3pm on Sunday, 11.14.09 at The Blue Sky
Collective.

noise with drums as we possibly can.  There can be drumming before and after
this time, but mostly we're wanting a huge drum frenzy for 15 minutes to
demonstrate our displeasure with the real estate developer and their
money-before-people attitude.  Please come and help make this happen.

Arts and Cultural Center in Lakewood!!!  This gathering will be Friday, November
13 from 7p - 9p.  Drummers and dancers of all skill levels are invited.  There
will be extra drums and assorted rhythm instruments available.  We've had a
great response from people who have attended our past circles.  They'll be back
and the only thing that would make the event more fun would be if you and your
friends would come and join us.  Come on out, join in the fun and start your
weekend with the rhythmic treat of our locked in primal beats!!!

For those of you who may not know, The Blue Sky Collective is located in a large
building and a huge space on the lower floor is available for this event.  There
is limited parking in front of The Blue Sky Collective on Colfax Ave., but by
going North on Iris, the first street West of Blue Sky and looking for the Blue
Sky parking sign about 1/4 block North of Colfax on the East side of Iris, you
will find a huge parking lot behind The Blue Sky Collective's building with
great access through an open door to the lower floor where the event will be
held.

The management is asking for a donation of $1 / person.

Explore fundamental poly-rhythms and traditional and contemporary dance rhythms
from West Africa. Bring a djembe, dunun, or other hand drum and join the
ensemble. Study how to accompany dancers and to

Directions:

The Florence High School is an easy drive from Colorado Springs: Come south on
Hwy 115, take Hwy 50 west to the first stoplight (Hwy 67.) Turn left on Hwy 67,
and the school is 1 � miles on the left.  Hwy 67 has a sharp turn in it, please
be careful.  The school sits in the middle of large empty fields.  Enter the
school through the front doors, and please don't park in the bus lane.  Dancers
and vendors park in the North parking lot, and may enter through those doors.
