Disability In Arts is a list on which members evaluate a creative consciousness within the disabled community, and its culture, whether that be as disabled writers, dance performers, actors, or those who portray us. We examine disability in the media, in theater, and in film and literature. In 2003 we covered an essay collection by Andre Dubus, Broken Vessels, films like Gabby and Finding Nemo, and disabled poets such as Vassar Miller, and debated the issue of Lucy the Elephant's accessibility to visitors.

For the summer of 2005 we have read The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon, and The Who rock opera Tommy, and had a discussion on The Lost Prince, which appeared on Masterpiece Theater.

The list owner is going to change DIA from an e-list to a web archive at some point, but for the time being the list will be kept going.

This is *NOT* a disability activist support group, but a discussion forum which interprets disability within the fine arts.
