This is a Yahoo group dedicated to the discussion and play of DOWN IN FLAMES, a game series about air combat published by GMT Games (http://www.gmtgames.com). Down in Flames (DiF) is played with cards, with cards representing aircraft and actions the aircraft take during the course of a dogfight. Actions and Aircraft are managed in two separate Decks. An additional level of gameplay is offered by the air campaigns, which present a series of missions in a linear sequence. GMT's support for the series is excellent, with three modules in the series currently published: RISE OF THE LUFTWAFFE, EIGHTH AIR FORCE, and ZERO! A further module, CORSAIRS AND HELLCATS, is scheduled to be published in 2002. There have been several supplements to the DiF system published in C3I magazine, GMT's house organ. This group will discuss tactics, scenario design and general mechanics of the system.
