[SLT] 10/7: Talk: How to Bring Up Your Children?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #5125 of 5291 |

From: Kanugolle Rathanasara [mailto:rathanasarathero@...]

How to bring up your children?

A seed, planted in well prepared soil,

With enough water, sunshine and fertilizer,

May sprout and grow as a strong tree.

A child, brought up

With nutritious food and healthy thoughts,

In a suitable social background,

Will grow up as a noble human being.

A mother knows when to feed the child,

But does she know when to input the good thoughts?

What are the Buddhist techniques a pregnant mother should practice in order to have a healthy and virtuous child?

Do you think your child has got both head and heart?

Just like a bird needs two wings to fly properly, your child needs wisdom and compassion so as to become a perfect human being.

‘Venerable Sir, all my children have converted to other religions. I am worried that they may not conduct a Buddhist funeral once I am dead and gone’ an elderly father said.

Do you want to pass this precious teaching of the Buddha to your child?

How should you bring up your child as a Buddhist?

Come on Friends,

Let’s get together on 10th Friday July 2009, at 8:30 pm, in Sri Lankaramaya Buddhist Temple [30 C St. Michael’s RD]. Ven. K. Rathanasara invites you to share the Dhamma.
