Your messages are going to the group (the ones who receive email) and
are posted in the internet forum, so you're good to send messages.

first i apologise to any germans out there... unless you work for
airport security

I had my devil stick and 2 sets of hand sticks confiscated at Düsseldorf
airport, cos i might use them to overpower the crew and hijack the
plane! Lufthansa refused point blank to send them on to me. I was rudely
ordered to go to a desk where the nice smiling girl told me I have 2
options.... keep the devil sticks, lose my flight, no refund.... or
throw the sticks in the bin and get on the flight. Whereupon i proposed
a third option, that she should take possession of said sticks and stick
them up her arse (fanny if your American). As i stormed off back to
security, i remembered i had left my ticket at the desk and so had to go
back and plead for my ticket from the now not smiling girl. How
embarrassing. But wot a bunch of wankers (er... jerks if your American).
That devil stick was hand made and i haven't got a lathe anymore (they
had no problem with the flowerstix tho, so i toyed with idea of
hijacking the plane with them just to prove a point). Anyway I am
sending my excrement to Germany as a protest, i suggest you do too.

This summer i have made big steps to cracking 2 sticks. My latest trick
is spinning and launching both sticks up into the air and catching them
again, but keeping them perfectly symmetrical and in time, the effect is
sooooo cool.

As an American, I resent the implication that we can't swear properly.
Apart from that, sorry for your loss man.

Hello everyone..! It's my sister's birthday soon and I'm looking for
something special for her.. We've been fire swinging for a little
while now for organised events and we've always had to borrow fire
sticks so a nice prezzie idea would be to get her some sticks of her
very own... Does anyone know of a place in or around Huddersfield or
West Yorkshire where I could purchase such items at a reasonable
price...? Also, another idea might be some stilts because she had a
pair when she was little and she was quite good on them ! If anyone
has any info, I would be most grateful, and so would my little
sister...!
Thank you !

Unfortunately, I've never seen a good set of commercially produced
fire sticks. I've had to resort to making my own. I can tell you for
sure that Radical Fish fire sticks are crap. They broke on me after a
few months of use. If you find good ones, let us know.

I've had a set like the ones your selling before. I'd like to know if
yours have a metal rod running through the entire length of the stick,
or if it's just screwed into each end of the fiberglass rod? The set I
had was just screwed into the end, and this turned out to be a serious
design flaw.

Thanks for the time,

Some good-looking stix and swords on the site. Could you make it possible to
blow up the images? I'd like a better look at those Fire Lotus stix.

Still wondering how the metal is attached to your stick. Also, are you
assembling them yourself, and how are you keeping metal parts affixed
to the center rod during burning? (metal expansion under heat can do
very embarrassing things during a show.)

Well the flame drops in temperiture when you use lamp oil (liquid paraphin) other fuel burns much hoter and faster aswell. And I use a very bright color for the baton center so it is easy to see through the fire. Yes I am ataching the metal screw to the end of the fiber glass but it has 3 new features to secure that it stays atatched. I cant go over all of my new desighns but trust me they are very sturdy and will last anyone that buys a set years of fun with fire. Peace Love & Flower Stix

Hello  I have my site up and stix avalible, I also just made two 3ft fire flower stix & I have 1 reg, 4 vegan,1 extra leather rose bud versions avalible. My site is Westcoastjuggling.com. I think you will like the sun flower set.

Our sun flower set is longer and more sturdy. This set is our fire version of the crystal stix set. It comes with much wider flower ends and a solid treaded rod going through the baton connecting both flower ends, making it much more durable. It is 26-28 in long and weighs (????). It is a longer, heavyer, stronger baton.I am still in the proses of making 4 of this version so I will know the weight very soon.

Plz let me know what you think. I am very sorry for the delay on my site.

If by lunastix you mean flowersticks (sticks with tassels), the sticks I use are
called hotstix ( http://www.hotstix.biz/ ) that are modified to be safe at shows
(see below). West coast juggling also has them, though I haven't seen their
sticks, so I don't know if they're safe with crowds.

The following link shows the chain setup that replaces tassels for fire sticks.

It's a light weight chain. You can buy it at any hardware store. The chains are
attached to a washer which has holes drilled into the perimeter.

Safety is always the first concern with fire sticks. Check several things. The
wicks must not be allowed to fall off either through being prevented by a coder
pin or by destroying the threads yourself with a pair of pliers or similar so
the retaining nut can't spin freely off your stick. Second, the wicks being
attached to a single unit. Look for a rod running through the whole stick. If it
unscrews on each side, it's no good (Glue is no good either, metal expands and
breaks the seal when heated). Third, be good enough at the trick you perform. Do
not try any trick with a crowd if you might loose your stick into the audience,
Ever. Fourth, always have a safety person. This video almost never showed the
crowd. The people milling about in the background are performers who aren't
performing and are acting as safeties. They have wet blankets to put the
performers out, as well as the audience, if need be.

Another safety tip. Wear natural clothes (cotton or wool). Synthetics catch fire
easily and melt on your skin. Your skin is really hard to catch fire, but
polyester can do the job if it lights up.

Otherwise, don't be concerned about trying tricks out if you have a safety. If
wearing the right clothes, you will only loose a little hair if you screw up.
Find a fire spinning group in your area. Poi is really popular right now, and
those people are fine with devil stickers.

Good sticking.
Z-

P.S. Apologies to the lady who's husband invented flowersticks. I know you don't
like us using the term generally, but we don't have another one for those types
of sticks.

well I have been trying to master 2 stix for a while now and im actually
starting to get somewhere. it now feels quite natural to have 2 stix on
the go. But the big question is where do you go after 2 stix? 3 stix? 2
stix on a unicycle?

oh yeah this is weird, but i can spin like a propeller with the left
hand with my eyes closed, but not my right? im right handed mainly.... hmmm

back to lurking
