Goals

I. Raise awareness of the numbers of people in the early stages of dementia and of their unique needs

II. Empower people with dementia to take active roles in their own lives and the management of their illnesses

III. Promote connections between people and organizations dealing with dementia

IV. Promote research into treatment and cures for illnesses causing dementia

V. Promote strong advocates for effective public policy, products, services, resources and activities designed to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and for their carers.

Join our "Alliance to Defeat Dementia." You can feel much better about living with dementia if you work with others with dementia who intend to defeat the disease. Helping others helps you as well. This group is for anyone in the USA interested in advocacy who has Alzheimer's, vascular dementia, Pick's, FLD, stroke-related dementia or other types of dementia.

No FLAMING, advertising or personal attacks will be tolerated. New members will be moderated for a brief time to minimize spamming. Members are encouraged to help with public education and awareness of dementia locally, regionally and nationally; to engage others with dementia in face-to-face meetings; to advocate and to attend conferences when possible.
