I wouldn't. Whatever you can say anything `IS', it isn't. I again point to, "The
Tao that you can name is not the eternal Tao." Or, "A rose by any other name
would smell as sweet."
DO what you do, who gives a flying fig what noises we make with our foodholes
about it? Does any symbol system's hootings and screechings, or crude etchings
change anything? If we SAY, "Paganism `IS' bla bla bla…" does it `mean'
anything? Meanings change with the wind. For example, the Christian religion(s)
of 2009 C.E. differ vastly from any Christianity found in, say, 278 C.E.
Christianity 5000 years from now will probably be vastly different than now.
Words tend to suggest that we are dealing with static, unmoving `Things',
instead of dynamic, always changing processes. Mystical experience, as well as
modern physics, suggests process, not necessarily thing-ness.
Let us enhance our base with any and every wisdom tradition we have access to.
Study science. Study Zen. Study linguistics. Study psychology. Study sociology.
Study everything. Experience, again, suggests connection. What are your dots
connected to? If connection is a better map than separation, then wouldn't
every'thing' be responsible for everything else all the time? Reflect on it.
That's my advice.
"Truth suffers from too much analysis."
