Thanks for posting and it is very good to hear from you again!

Several weeks ago, after you and I talked on the phone, I contacted
Senator Deuell's assistant (Tom Forse I believe was his name) and we
talked at length about the DA problem.  I told him who we are and
what our goals are - to reform the current Texas criminal records
expunction laws so that those with DA on their public record could
one day look forward to having their records expunged.  He was nice
enough, and quite cordial.  He took my contact information as well.
I told him that I wanted to work with his office for the purpose of
getting a bill drafted and put on the calendar for committee hearings
but he never got back with me.  All those guys at the state level
have their own timetable for wanting to get things done, and at times
it can be frustrating when it seems like they are not giving you any
feedback on their progress...or lack thereof.  I am going to try
again to contact them this week and see what's going on and offer my
assistance if needed.

Oh by the way,  let's you and I do lunch sometime soon. I don't have
your phone number handy...could you e-mail it to me at:

As soon as I get your number, I will call you.  Hope to hear back
from you soon!

what is LCDC? aslo I am the one who is out of a job not Lori. I was posting
this to try to get a job. I was arrested for sexual assualt, but I plead to
the "lesser offense" of Reckless Endangerment of a Handicap/ Criminal
Neglect, This is still a felony. I do not have to register as a sex
offender. nor did I take any classes. I am still on probation untill 2006.
For those of you that are responding to my ORIGINAL message, I need a job,
not whether you think I have a good idea. NO OFFENSE. I know that this can
work. THe question is will others help us when the system has let us down.

I can't imagine you not getting a job as an LCDC.
Every LCDC I have ever known has a laundry list of
convictions. The majority of LCDC's used to be
addicts, themselves. Also, what was your charge? Let
me know.

Group members;

    I know of several companies who hire DA(depending
on the charge). See, just because someone has a DA, it
has a lot to do with what the offense is (violent
crime/victimless crime, etc.), at least from my
experiences and people I have talked to.
    If you are in search of employment, just let me
know what type of skills/education/trade you have
expereince in see what I can find.

That is a great thing.  I have had no luck with a job because of the Deferred issue.  I used to be a  LCDC counselor and no one whould hire me.  Now, I must start over. I took networking for t-3 years in college ane want a job.  But must it be fast food ?  It looks like I can't pay bills I will be in the governmental system for ever.  Housing, shelters and the like.  Troubled. Hopefully this idea you have had can sucure the issue

knows I am on DA for a felony.They wont take everyone but they took me.

Yes, they will. See, most other states run a criminal
background check that ONLY shows Felony CONVICTIONS,
NOT DA. State offials in New Jersey and Elsewhere in
the NE told me that it is not considered a criminal
conviction(DA) in their respective state. Texas is
just one of the hardest to live with.
Although, like I mentioned, TEXAS is willing to give
me a second chance by granting me a real estate
license. The officals in Austin stated that since I
had NOT been convicted of the felony, that they would
allow me to be licensed in TX.
