Ya gotta love "Daven", a classic, narrow gauge, diesel critter, originally #101 of the Sumpter Valley Railway but better known as D&RGW #50....

If you get all fuzzy and warm about this historic locomotive, drop in to the Bobber Shop and share information about the history of Davenport #2245, a 30 ton, three-foot gauge diesel switcher built in 1937 that returned to service today (2009/0711) after being rebuilt by the Colorado Railroad Museum.

There are thousands of photos of Daven "out there" and we'd like to post the important ones "in here" so we all can share. Along the way, we'll discuss every detail and aspect of its long and interesting career.

Follow this critter from the Builder's Photo of 1937 to the Sumpter Valley Railway, to the Denver & Rio Grande Western, to the Roaring Camp & Big Trees, back to the Durango Railroad Museum and finally to her current home at the Colorado Railroad Museum.
