If Daruma san can not protect you effectively,
there are more ways to ensure divine protection.

Here is a great link

FIND YOUR PRINCIPAL PATRON / TUTELARY DEITY
Copyright © 2003 James Deacon

There is a popular belief that each person has one of eight Buddhist
Deities who watches over and protects them.

These eight deities are: the Nyorai (Buddhas) Dainichi & Amida; the
Bosatsu (bodhisatvas) Senju-Kanzeon, Kokuzo, Monju, Fuken & Seishi:
and the Myo-o (Wrathful Kings of Mystic Wisdom) Fudo.

To discover your principal patron deity, who is watching over you
now, and has done so since your birth, simply find your 'birth year'
on the chart below.

As you can see, in the Japanese allocation system used here,
the 'years' do not run from January-December, but from February-
January.

So if you were, for example born in January 1967, you are actually
considered as having been born in the end of 1966. In this example,
your patron would therefore be Seishi Bosatsu (Feb 1966 - Jan 1967)
rather than Dainichi Nyorai.

[While the deity named beside your birth year indicates your
principal protector, this does not mean that an individual cannot
seek help, protection and guidance from other Buddhist deities.]
