Hello you all!
I invite you and your friends and family to co-create an art dance
installation/ altar, with me on New Year's Eve.
TIMBAVATI. In Zulu it means, “The Falling Down of a Star.” The place
where a star falls is presumed to be the location of strong
transformation and magic.
We've got a blue moon New Year's Eve this year so why not jump in and
play! This is a substance free event. No experience necessary. If
you have a body, then your qualified. :)
Supplies:
20 pieces of large high quality water color paper-- taped on the
wall (38 feet!)
Round 1 Post Qi Gong: charcoal and erasers
Round 2 Post Yum: roasted red and yellow beets
Round 3: Post Kundalini ritual: cooked kale and other green
possibilities
Round 4: Post Tantra: coffee grounds
Round 5: Post Aerial Dance: clear coat of acrylic polymer with a bit
of white gesso in it (to seal the work and the year)
Warm water and towels to wash feet with before reentering the dance
floor.
Format: We will use the energy and movement of the prior activity to
make marks and expressions on the row of 20 paper panels as we pass by
them in a brief improvised line dance.
Itinerary:

I'm going to be renting a house and need a reliable, conscious, kind,
considerate, clean, quiet, friendly, mature, financially stable, house
mate. No smoke, no drugs, occasional light drinking.
Ability to compassionately communicate and share space
responsibly. I'm looking for someone who is health conscious and
consciousness oriented, with a warm heart.
I"m a healing arts practitioner. My home is my sanctuary and play
space. I need a certain amount of quiet time, yet like to sing a bit,
and play a bit of flute. I sometimes listen to some music, yet really
prefer silence. I enjoy heartfelt sharing and communication, and just
being. I meditate (just sitting) daily, in addition to practicing
medical qigong, stretching and rolling around on the floor. I'm
generally easy going, and like things like common sense, practicality,
cleanliness, organic clean food, win-win ease for all concerned, being
considered, appreciated and respected and I offer the same.
If you feel that you would be a good fit as a house mate, and need something
soon, like Jan 1
Please email and tell me about yourself. Let me know if you could
afford also as much as $1150. Let me know if you have furniture. I have
a lovely sofa, a small kitchen table, bookcase, bedroom furniture. Hot
tub. I love cats and currently have none.
Thank you. May you be safe, happy, healthy and live with ease.

Hello Meditative, Conscious, Vibrantly Alive Beings with Great Communication
Skills!
I'm looking for another place to live and wonder who is out there to
share a house with. If we go in together, we can get a really grand
place that's light, bright, well situated, and get more for the money,
maybe even a third bedroom to use as a healing/meditation room?
I see some now, and am calling in the right housemate(s) If there are 3 of us we
would need to be able to pay $750ish, two of us, $1150.
Or if you have something and don't smoke, don't 420, and are into
awakening, yoga, qigong, quiet - SILENT- just sitting, cleanliness,
friendliness, singing, flute/tamboura playing,
conscious community, compassionate communication, like to dance sometimes, roll
around on the floor,
give a call and let me know, Thanks!
Don't have a pet now, and I love cats.
Much love,

world.
Kyer will be presenting his amazing book Tribal Revival next door !!!

the regular $50 retail price this Friday, you get your second copy for only $25.
I'll also have a few copies of the limited special edition on sale.
This event runs in conjunction with Laura's Soul Sanctuary Dance jam.
Flo will be spinning some awesome dance tunes starting at 9 PM.
After you've checked out my provocative slide show and purchased a copy of
Tribal Revival for yourself and a loved one for Christmas, go move your body and
dance dance dance!
I look forward to sharing this beautiful book of our tribe with you.

Dear Ones,
Tonight (Wednesday, December 16th) will be our next Santa Cruz Monthly
Practice. We had a fabulous turnout again last month and I'm looking
forward to gathering with you again.
The work we are doing in these first few months of laying the groundwork
of the 5Rhythms via the physical gateways, will leave us in a very sweet
spot as we start to gather weekly. The gateways are the anatomy of the
5Rhythms practice and our purpose in focusing on them is to bring
awareness to and expand the range of motion in each of these key areas.
This month's practice will focus on releasing our arms and hands to what
is moving through us from the ground up.
I hope to see you on the dance floor soon.
Claire
[SCMonthlyPractice] Santa Cruz Monthly Practice
As we grow our Santa Cruz tribe, your assistance is greatly appreciated.
If you can forward this announcement to a friend or you have a list that
you can publish the information to, we would be most grateful for your
efforts.
A few reminders to bring ease to our time together:
* If you are joining us for the first time, please be sure to check
in with one of our greeters near the sign in table so that we can orient
you to the evening. If you're bringing a friend who has never been,
please help them find the greeter. * To be good neighbors to the
yoga classes we share the space with, we ask that you be mindful of the
volume of your voices as we arrive and begin the evening together. It's
been requested that we enter the hallway outside of the dance space with
minimal conversation and low-voices. * Remember to bring a full
water bottle with you. There is only one water fountain at the Vet's
Hall and it's down 3 flights of stairs. * To maximize our dance
space, we request that you leave your shoes, coats, etc, outside the
room and bring in only your water bottle and valuables.
* We've started a table for postcards, fliers and offerings of goods
and services among our budding 5Rhythms tribe. Please bring your
offerings for the table with you. Due to limited storage resources, we
appreciate you taking them home with you at the end of the evening.

Jon Bernie, a non-dual teacher in the lineage of Adyashanti, frequently
helps people access a deeper level of meditation than they ordinarily
experience on their own. During satsang, Jon answers participants' questions
and has an intuitive ability to sense into the hearts of those who ask them.
He often assists people in using the physical energy of their emotions as a
gateway into Presence.
Jon spent many years practicing in the Zen and Vipassana Buddhist traditions
before meeting Advaita master Jean Klein in the late 1980s, with whom he
studied for an extended period. Jon subsequently spent time with H.W.L.

Teaching: Giving Thanks
On this eve of Thanksgiving, I'd like to talk about giving thanks. Let's
start with the giving part. How many people come to satsang wanting to get
something? I'll never forget one satsang with Robert Adams, when he stated
out loud right at the beginning - what do you want from me? He really was
funny that way.
Are you trying to get something here? Are you saying to yourself, free me
from my insane mind, or enlighten me, or heal me, or fix me, or fill me with
super-powered shakti so all my karma can fry to a crisp? In other words,
give me, give me, give me. Do it to me!
Instead of saying, "how was satsang," or "what did you get at satsang?" -
how about trying, "what did I give at satsang?" - did I become one with the
space, with the transmission, which means receiving and giving the light and
the energy simultaneously.
You know, the only way to 'get enlightened' is to give everything: your
body, your heart, your mind. And in that profound emptiness, the infinite
vastness becomes radiant fullness. And gratitude is the natural expression
of the infinite heart of vastness. In other words, being thankful and
appreciative is the natural response to freedom - freedom from the burden of
being somebody.
So, when there's no one giving, then giving is happening. And when there's
no one receiving, receiving is happening. Otherwise, it's some act, some
performance, some idea of giving - it's some doing.
But when there's no one giving, then there's receiving and giving, and it's
love and connection. I like to call it the space of intimacy... that
fullness of heart . not the emotional heart, but the heart of
interconnectedness, the heart of oneness.
It's like everything is smiling at everything.

Hello Dancers,
Needing people for the following shifts:
9:00-9:30= Clay
9:30-10AM?
10:00-10:30AM?
10:30-11:00AM?
Please e-mail me which shift you want, 1st choice& second choice
Also: Looking for one or two more people to help with coordinating the door.
This would mean taking resposibility one Sunday a month for the door. Door
involves making sure people show up for their shift every half hour, and
covering a shift if need be or finding someone to cover a shift. This will grant
you free entrance to dance church on a regular basis.
Please contact me with further inquiries by e-mail or phone

Thankyou in advance for your help, and service on behalf of our amazing
community!

If you missed Just Love's recent house concert, you can catch Amy and Tim
singing as a duo at the Ugly Mug this Friday 6-8pm. Sweet vocals and
spiritually powerful songwriting. And it is free!
Hello again dear community,
HERE IS MY HOUSING UPDATE:
I have to be out of my house by next Tuesday, December 15th. Looks like I'm
going to put my stuff in storage again. There are plenty of places
available and I am quite selective about the home I live in, so I'm willing
to gypsy it until I find what feels right.
I NEED HELP MOVING: Does anyone have time between tomorrow, Wednesday the
9th and Monday the 14th to help me move? I don't have very much stuff
actually.
I'M STILL LOOKING FOR A PLACE (In Santa Cruz most likely) - $650 or less,
shared home situation. I have LOTS more info about me and what I want if
you haven't seen it.
I'M OPEN TO SUBLETTING
I MAY BE AVAILABLE FOR HOUSESITTING while I'm looking:(Starting December
15th til unknown date)
DO YOU HAVE A PLACE FOR ME TO PARK MY VAN (2000 TOYOTA SIENNA)?and sleep in
it? FOR ANYWHERE FROM ONE NIGHT TO A MONTH Somewhere quiet, safe and shaded
in the morning is ideal, even if it's on the street in front of your house.
I could pay you $10 a night in exchange for the sleeping arrangement, making
a meal or two in your house, taking a shower and using WIFI, if you have it,
or I could do some type of chore for you in exchange - plant care,
house-cleaning, *I could offer MASSAGE*!, childcare, shopping, research,
something else?
DO YOU HAVE A SPARE ROOM I COULD STAY IN TEMPORARILY? See list of exchange
offers above.
That's my update for now,
Let me know if you can help me, or I can help you, in any way,
With gratitude and possibilities,
Annette

MALCOLM MANNING: 1. Awareness Perception Presence class & 2. Contact
Improvisation workshop, January 25-29, 2010, Schwelle7, Berlin/Germany
5 day Intensive with Malcolm Manning
morning classes 11am - 1:30pm: Awareness Perception Presence class
afternoon workshop 3:00pm - 6:00pm: Contact Improvisation workshop
WHEN: Monday – Friday, January 25-29, 2010
WHERE: Schwelle 7, Berlin, Germany
(1)AWARENESS PERCEPTION PRESENCE:
MOVING FROM THE FISH BODY
Morning Class series - open for all levels - (11:00am - 1:30pm)
(You can attend only the morning classes, without the workshop!!!)
Malcolm has spent the last five-years developing a body of work called
Awareness Perception Presence in which he combines the Feldenkrais
Method, Experiential Anatomy and other specially-devised material to
enter into a physical dialogue with ourselves and our environment. In
this particular series, we'll explore the Fish Body (axial skeleton)
taking some of Steve Paxton's Material For The Spine as our reference.
Each class begins with a guided exploration/lecture/dialogue in which
the specific theme of the class is introduced through movement and
associated anatomical details. Next a Feldenkrais (ATM) class which
aims to clarify some aspects of the theme. The final part of the class
is spent in self-directed exploration taking the references movements
as a starting point.
SInce we work alone in these classes, it is possible to open these to
anyone who wishes to attend. The set material is simply standing and
walking so makes no special demands physically.
(2) Contact IMPROVISATIONAL MIND
Contact Improvisation Workshop - advanced only - (3:00pm - 6:00pm)
(Includes participation in the morning classes!!!)
When are we truly improvising CI and when are we just running through
familiar patterns and pathways? As we become more experienced and
skilled in the form, how can we keep our dancing fresh and
improvisational?
One way is to study how to be present to ourselves and to extend our
perception of ourselves. The Awareness Perception Presence morning
class series aims to address to these issues. In the context of this
workshop, you could think of them as an extended warm-up or
preparation to dance CI.
In the afternoon sessions, we'll follow a process that unfolds by
exploring a series of simple CI scores designed to interrupt the
familiar. We'll also create our own scores, explore some less-common
contact technique, watch each other dancing, and dialogue on the
improvisational nature of CI.
During the workshop, the exploration of scores will be directed mainly
toward the question of improvisation in CI. My experience is that they
are interesting to watch and also open up strategies for performing
CI. The workshop will therefore culminate in a showing where we will
dance some of the scores that we have worked on for an audience.
Participation in the workshop showing is not absolutely necessary but
strongly encouraged. It will take place on Friday, January 29, 2010 at
8:30 PM
For the afternoon workshop there is a limited number of places,
available for participants with at least three years experience of
dancing and studying contact improvisation. If you are interested then
please write a brief outline of your experience and interest in
attending (no more than one side A4).

Dear community
Joslyn who is part of our dance community is temporarily homeless. Last night
she slept in her car. She specifically needs a place for Monday, Tuesday, and
Wed of this week. She can afford approx $500 for a place and is available for
work exchange as well.
Please contact her by phone, or e-mail me, if you are able to provide her with a
shelter, or know of a potential shelter for her. She already looked into the
homeless shelter, there is a waiting list. Anyone know anything about the
armory? Or have information about churches that house homeless folks?
Thankyou thankyou,
