RE: [DPHRB] Re: Parking How about this

Thanks Rodger,   It's important to know these things.  We really got to keep in mind that this is a 50 yr improvement plan. And once it's done  it's done.

The original plan for "revitalizing" DOWNSIZING" really hasn't changed much since George announced it  years ago.  The only positive thing that has happened, is the Water District realizing that there's money in the need to store boats close to the harbor.  I realize that has nothing to do with the harbor, only that the Water District has a gold mine.

I really think also of the idea of a parking structure where the main parking lot is now is a good idea. Instead of  putting in in the dry storage area.

What else is on the horizon.

Dan

Dan,
Just an FYI, this idea has been exposed to the Parking Task Force.  The initial response was positive.

Hi Ted      How about putting a parking structure under Cove Road for employee and other parking.  You know the area across from the pier parking lot..   It's a valuable space which everyone is overlooking. .

Mark: I like the tone of your idea. Parking employees and Cat Exp people for sure! And... Additional, read that ADDITIONAL, dry storage. If the county could not destroy the parking lots we have including trailer launch parking, dry storage, and dedicated boater and build more buildings until they found offsite parking I wonder how much they'd build?

I get the feeling that by the DPBA working to create a marine store, dry stack, and surface storage up the creek that the county will try to use that as mitigation and we'll all be screwed. I mean aren't the "boaters" asking for that? Unfortunately, they are playing into the county's hand.

You are right, parking cars offsite and boats in the harbor is an interesting concept.

Steve, I find your comments to Ted about knowing the facts to be off base as the county has often misrepresented and has kept facts from boaters all along....
