The best way to connect Ge'ulah to Tefilah is to say the one after the other in
the same breath, with only a slight pause in-between, if any. If possible, it is
good to say them both with the same breath (Minor Chayim on the Chavos Yair,
111:1).
Therefore it is best (if possible), to collect one's thoughts to mentally
prepare oneself for Shemonah Esray when saying Shirah Chadashah or Tzur Yisrael,
the final passages before the brachah of Ga'al Yisrael (Piskai Tshuvos 111:1).
