According to studies as far back as the 1940's, over half of the population experiences some degree of "Same Gender Attractions" (SGA). Shocked? However, most men do NOT identify with the cultural movement that calls itself "gay". As a matter of fact, "gay" is shunned by most men with SGA. Why? Because - for the most part, "GAY" - is a "package deal" label. To wear it is to declare that you ASSociate with the entire package - which consists of every loud bizarre fetish showcased in any "pride" parade. And to most men, friendship does not involve putting anything up another dudes chute - even intensely physically intimate friendships! Most men who love men, -- appreciate masculine traits characteristic of testosterone; -& hence do not ever seek to turn a buddy into a "b1tch"! Our Sister's clothes look great -on our sisters (not us unless it's part of a gag)! We're not interested in "Queer-eyes", the "Birdcage"; -& "Will & Grace" is a sitcom we don't relate to (but laugh at). The "GAY" label carries too much with it that most men find unappealing.
However, for lots of us: We experience strong SGA. Many have had relationships of an intensely intimate nature with 1 or more buddies. Not raunch, but respect. Not casual, but intense, private & bonding. We don't see other guys as "meat". Many of us love one or more buds with an intensity that defies mere words. Most are extremely discrete while in public, -so as to deny the monsters of gossip & speculation any morsels they may eat with their eyes (They just vomit it out later while saying, "Would you look at that!" & pointing at the digested vision of those they feed upon). Media & the 'courts' are generally, our enemies (often trying to pigeonhole us as 'gay'). We liked BrokeBack -EXCEPT for the AnalSex scenes (which we found grossly offensive to our masculinity & moral posturing).
