Avenue for exchanges and info on DRR/M and CBDRM.

Owner: Disaster Risk Reduction Network Philippines (DRRNetPhils), a national tertiary formation (umbrella) of Philippine CSOs, communities, practitioners and advocates adhering to the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) on DRR/M and implementing the CBDRM.

The network focuses its engagement in pushing in the present Congress for a DRM bill to be passed that incorporates the HFA and the major internationally acceptable norms in DRR/M and CBDRM.

In support of pushing for the DRM bill, the DRRNetPhils will undertake legislative advocacy in both houses of the Congress to include actual crafting of a bill and its IRR, attending committee and public hearings, conduct of research and evidenced – based presentations and defense, perform IEC, awareness raising initiatives and mobilization, carry out linkaging and networking among the legislatures, executive branch, local government officials, academe, media,business, and other major stakeholders, and generating public support and positive action.

Simultaneously, DRRNetPhils will be engaged constructively in the SNAP enhancement and implementation. The DRM Bill advocacy and lobby work shall be linked to the SNAP and used to raise awareness and actions towards the SNAP enhancement and implementation at national and local levels.

Even as it works on DRM Bill advocacy and lobby work, DRRNetPhils will continue with its local advocacy (local ordinances enabling CBDRM) and modeling (institutionalization of CBDRM at local level).

It will relate and link up with other formations, groups and individuals, both locally and global, whose principles, programs and activities converged with the umbrella’s unity points.
